Derek was the valedictorian of his graduating class and a captain of the basketball and track teams. You don't have to read his bio to know that he wasn't dating the head cheerleader though. He is the token gay guy in the house.Also unusual is that he already knows Jonna as they work together at a bar in Tempe. MTV didn't have enough people to pick from that they had to cast two friends?
